JOM BEKPES

  • JOM BEKPES is held on the 1st , 2nd and 3rd Wednesday of every month
  • Its main objective is to provide temporary relief to cater to the immediate needs of the poor
  • Each session will be hosted by different public and private universities / colleges in and around Klang Valley
  • Location: KL Krash Pad, Pusat Aktiviti Kanak-Kanak (PAKK) Chow Kit, Sekolah Bimbingan Jalinan Kasih and Pusat Transit Gelandangan Kuala Lumpur
  • Time: 6am – 8:30am
  • 15-20 volunteers needed for each session – university and college students are welcomed
  • Activities during JOM BEKPES session include:-
  • Coordinate food aid and distribution
  • On-ground mobilisation of volunteers
  • Volunteers teach poor children for free
  • Medical check-ups and humanitarian relief
  • Gather and distribute material aids during disaster

JOM SAHUR

  • JOM SAHUR is held every Wednesday from 1am – 2am throughout the holy month of Ramadan
  • Volunteers hand out pre-dawn meals to the homeless and underprivileged
  • 15-20 volunteers needed for each session – university and college students are welcomed

 

OPEN HOUSE FOR HOMELESS

  • An extension of Jom Bekpes campaign
  • Its main objective is to share festive joy with homeless and underprivileged children
  • Open house for the homeless is held on every major festive seasons
  • Previous open house campaigns: JOM RAYA, JOM CNY and JOM DIWALI
  • 10 volunteers needed for each session- university and college students are welcomed

 

PARTNERSHIP

  • Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) namely MyCARE and Buku Jalanan Chow Kit (BJCK) are our partner for free-of-cost night classes held for underprivileged children
  • Classes for the underprivileged children is held every Monday and Friday
  • Monday: 9pm – 11pm (conducted and monitored by MyCARE)
  • Friday: 8pm – 10pm (conducted and monitored BJCK)
  • 10 volunteers needed for each session – university and college students are welcomed
  • Night class on every Friday (except public holidays / state public holidays) is assisted by KDU University College’s volunteers
