DSA PARTNERS WITH IOJ AT DSA2018
KUALA LUMPUR, April 16, 2018
DSA Exhibition And Conference Sdn Bhd (DSA) has graciously partnered with Institut Onn Ja’afar (IOJ) to raise funds for charitable campaigns organised by the NGO.
Through this partnership, IOJ was given a booth at DSA’s 30th conference, being held at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from April 16 to April 19.
IOJ is also selling DSA’s “30 Years” Commemorative Coins with proceeds going towards helping the poor and vulnerable, particularly underprivileged children in Kuala Lumpur.
“IOJ Ambassadors are circulating around the showroom floor, selling the Coins at a price of RM50 per piece.
“We thank DSA for their continued support, which included our flagship campaign, Malaysians United Run, in 2015 and 2017,” says IOJ CEO Charles Mohan.
According to DSA General Manager Anita Jacobson, DSA chose to support IOJ because the latter encourages Malaysia’s multi-ethnic and multi-religious society to unite, particularly among the youth, for the purpose of charity.
“We believe this ‘unity for charity’ culture is important for Malaysia as it teaches us to set aside our minor differences for a greater purpose.
“Furthermore, most national security experts agree that an important contributor to domestic security, with the ever-present threat of extremism, is a united and inclusive society.
“That is something you can’t just trade,” admitted Jacobson.
IOJ is also receiving a contribution for its charity campaigns from Kallman Worldwide Inc, representing the conference’s United States Pavilion.
“In a spirit of partnership, indeed friendship, Kallman Worldwide recognizes the sustained collective effort by giving back.
“Nation-to-nation, as a grateful representative of the USA, and people-to-people, as a responsible global citizen, our gift to IOJ recognizes its dedication and service to improving the quality of life for the less fortunate in Malaysia.
“In particular, we are impressed by IOJ’s emphasis on volunteerism as an operating model and a cultural value. We hope our support helps strengthen the safety net it provides for the nation’s most vulnerable,” said Kallman President and CEO Tom Kallman.
